Аннотация: The article is devoted to the study of phenophases of two Syringa vulgaris varieties-Zashchitnikam Brest'and Olimpiada Kolesnikova'in the collection of the Botanical Garden of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The patterns of apical growth of annual vegetative and generative shoots are revealed. The average duration of apical growth of branching shoots is from 100 to 114 days. Features of apical growth of shoots are manifested in the form of differences and similarities in seasonal dynamics. It was found that the seasonal dynamics of growth of both types of shoots in the studied taxa is not linear. It is characterized by the presence of fluctuations in the form of extremes on the graphs of growth rates and has individual features in different taxa. At the same time, the growth dynamics of vegetative and generative shoots are similar. Small differences in the speed values are observed in certain periods. The duration of the growing season and the timing of the onset of phenophases of lilac taxa depend on the climatic conditions of the year. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2025.
