Abstract: The article is devoted to modeling of processes of deforming processing of wood composites to improve the appearance of finishing materials made of soft hardwood having homogeneous inexpressive texture. The physical essence of deforming veneer processing by a matrix of complex profile is theoretically established and experimentally confirmed. The mechanism and nature of interrelated phenomena accompanying the process of relief formation on the face surface of plywood have been established. Modeling of deforming processing was performed by the finite element method using a plane model. Based on the results of experimental and theoretical studies, the geometric dimensions of the matrix of complex profile, the use of which excludes the appearance of surface breaks and cracks, have been established. The offered model also allows to define rational regime parameters of gluing mode - temperature of press plates, pressure and duration of holding under pressure, at which high quality of a face surface of products is provided. © 2025 Author(s).
