Abstract: Results are presented of investigations into the effect of the form of the threaded swirl channel for gas flow in a plasma torch for cutting on the speed and shape of the plasma jet taking into account the profile of the gas-air circuit. The optimum values of the geometrical parameters of the swirl channel are presented. © 2012 Copyright Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
